TMR is a technique in which all the food which animal eats are mixed and offered to animal in one well-balanced mixture. This contains the roughages, the concentrates, vitamins and minerals. In this method there are less risk of acidosis as the total mixed ration helps to avoid low pH problems in the rumen, there is better digestion of nutrients, increase in milk production generally by 1 liter and better milk composition.
